Dr. Seuss’s book Oh the Places You’ll Go is full of bright illustrations and encouraging words and plenty of imagination. Enjoy this book with your kids, then make this Oh the Places You’ll Go balloon craft after.

It is a great way to enjoy the text further and get into all things Seuss. This is even a fun activity to do before a big road trip or in conjunction with rhyming words (put rhyming words on the balloon stripes!) Here is how you can get started!

Oh the Places You’ll Go Craft Directions:

1. Begin by cutting a balloon shape out of your pink foam. We freehanded ours which was quite easy. Just make an oval shape and finish the bottom of it with a triangle shape. Practice on regular scrap paper first if you want.

2. Now, cut some strips of yellow foam or felt which will be used to make stripes on your balloon. These don’t have to be perfect, and in fact are more fun if they are wild and uneven.
3. Place the strips of yellow foam or felt across the balloon. Adhere them with glue. Cut them to fit.
4. Finish your balloon by adding a piece of ribbon or string to the bottom of the balloon.

Your Oh the Places You’ll Go balloon is now ready to be enjoyed! Hang them up to add a pop of Seuss décor to your home. As you can see, these are so fun and frugal, and a great way to enjoy all things Seuss. Perfect for preschool, daycare, and kindergarten! Give them a try!
