Recycled Robot Soup Cans – Great for Storage or Kid’s Craft

Crafts and Activities

Meet the Recycled Robot Soup Cans! I have only completed 6 of them but there are SO many possibilities! These unique guys held the party favors at my son’s robot birthday party but you can add circuits, motors, and all sorts of fun things to them! These make GREAT recycled art projects for STEM camps!

Recycled Soup Can Robots Makerspace

They are simply soup cans which have been cleaned out. I then searched the garage for random pieces of “junk” to glue on the can including but not limited to bolts, washers, furniture pads, pieces of a light bulb, soda caps, paper clips, and other random items I found. Below are some ideas of things you can add to your tinker crate area of your maker stations!

Tinker Station Loose Parts Ideas:

  • Bottle Caps
  • Nuts / Washers
  • Springs
  • Wire connector caps
  • Grommets
  • Magnets
  • Wires

  • Hot Glue
  • Solder Equipment
  • Pom Pom Balls
  • Pieces of Dowel Rods
  • Cork
  • LEGO Bricks
  • Paint Markers

I used a hot glue gun which has held everything for 16 robots except 1 piece of rubber that’s giving me a hard time!!
