Learning Resources Magnetic Pattern Blocks Review

It’s already April (can you believe it?) and that means it’s time to feature another great product from Learning Resources! We received their new Magnetic Pattern Blocks to review which can really be used in any age classroom.
They work perfectly on the whiteboard or if you don’t have a magnetic board you could always lay them on a desk for a center. It comes with 47 pieces and an activity guide. You can create shapes, use them for fractions, teach symmetry, teach area, and just about anything else you can think of with these pattern blocks.
Be forewarned that they come in these nice sheets that you need to punch the shapes out! I made the mistake of opening it in the classroom and then had to take a few extra minutes to pop all of the shapes out!
The colors are bright though which is great for drawing the students attention up to the board. Not to mention that most students like to have the opportunity to come to the board and do something so it’s great for interaction as well.
There’s not a whole lot that I can say other than that they are magnetic shapes! Fairly thin so it may be a little difficult for a special needs child with a fine motor delay to grasp them off of the magnetic board but they seem durable and certainly won’t be falling apart any time soon.
I know many teachers like to make everything themselves but I suggest saving yourself the trouble – these only cost under $22 from Learning Resources and sometimes you can catch a sale on Amazon.
These are great to have on hand for preschool lessons as well and the shapes are very flexible for younger hands.
Disclosure: I received the above product to use in order to form my own opinions. All opinions are my own.
My kids would love the GeoSafari Talking Microscope.
