Make a Wearable Pilgrim Hat

This Friday my youngest son is supposed to dress up as a pilgrim for preschool so we all sat down to make some simple pilgrim hats for the boys to wear! All you need is scissors, glue, some tape or a stapler, and a black and yellow piece of construction paper.
Take your scissors and black construction paper and cut out a pilgrim hat shape like you see above. You’ll actually need two of these (one for the front and one for the back). A wide strip at the bottom with a rectangle looking shape on top.
Once you’ve cut this piece out you’ll also need two long skinny strips from your black construction paper.
The last thing you’ll need to cut is the buckle for your hat out of the yellow construction paper. Cut a square out, then cut a smaller square out of the middle of it to make it look like a buckle.
To put it together simply glue or tape the skinny strip of black construction paper onto the back of the large hat piece. Attach another skinny black strip to either side of the back of the hat. Then you simply need to staple the sides together to fit your child’s head!
That's adorable! Little Miss would love making those!
Such adorable pilgrims! This idea is really cute. 🙂
