This year at ChiTag I was lured to the Big G Creative booth by nostalgic games – games like the Happy Little Accidents Bob Ross party game, the Trapper Keeper Game, and yes, the Home Alone game! OK, so really the Trapper Keeper game really lit my excitement up but this Bob Ross Game, Happy Little Accidents, is just perfect for families and classrooms!

Whether Bob Ross is your spirit guide or you love his art, Happy Little Accidents is a fun family night game that will draw out your artsy side. The great thing is that it is so simple to play, takes only 15 minutes, and can be played with 3-6 people ages 10+. A special thanks to Big G Creative for sending us home with a copy of this game to share with you guys!

Even the markers have Bob Ross’ signature on them! Hows that for extra artsy?!

OK – so it’s very simple to play! Each player begins by doodling a quick squiggle line on a piece of drawing paper with the black marker provided.

Place all of the squiggle art doodle side down in a pile and mix them up well. There are 3 rounds to the game. Each player take one of the art pieces from the pile to start.

Depending what number is chosen will determine what you must draw on your squiggle art paper – everyone at the same time. So for example if you choose number 6 and the word on your card says “queen” – everyone must draw a queen on their art paper incorporating the squiggle into their design. Don’t forget to flip over the 30 second timer!

You’ll do this for 3 rounds! At the end of  3 rounds you’ll use your Bob Ross face (voting token) to vote for your favorite drawing! On the back of each Bob Ross token are squirrels. Some tokens have more squirrels than others. You’ll designate your token with the most squirrels to your first place artist choice! At the end of your game just add up how many squirrels you have won!

Why is a squirrel important to Bob Ross?

Did you know that Bob Ross raised a squirrel that later lived in his backyard? The squirrel’s name was Peapod and he used to sit in his pocket! You may remember him from The Joy of Painting.

What I love about this game, besides the fact that it’s Bob Ross and it’s art, is that it truly embraces his mantra “We don’t make mistakes…just happy little accidents.”. It turns one persons squiggles into another person’s art! It’s a positive party game where there truly are no accidents! It’s a lot of fun and really brings out one’s creativity!
