Disney’s Winnie the Pooh Movie

Last week I had the opportunity to take my oldest son on a mommy/son date and see the Disney’s new Winnie the Pooh movie! To be honest I had no idea what it was about, but I know that Winnie the Pooh is kid-approved for my family and I have long been a huge Pooh fan! I used to collect a huge amount of Winnie the Pooh gear when I was younger which I have since passed on to my own kids!

The movie is amazingly short- only 1 hour and 6 minutes! So it really is a good length for little ones that get ancy! There were a ton of small children at the theater and for the most part all of the kids seemed to be able to handle the length of the movie! Being an “older” Winnie the Pooh fan myself, I loved the way that the movie started out. The introduction to the movie was animated scenes out of the front of a classic Pooh book….the books which had the front inside covers with the map of the Hundred Acre Woods. I loved the reference back to some of the original Pooh works.

Of course all my son cared about was the Winnie the Pooh movie- not reminiscing about older Pooh characters! 🙂 And I guess that’s what really matters huh? My son loved it. In fact a few days after the movie I heard him singing some of the songs from the movie to his little brother in the car. I had to laugh and marvel that he remembered so much of the songs after only seeing the movie once!
