Dinosaur Train "Let’s Go to Volcano Valley" Flap Book from Reader’s Digest GIVEAWAY
This post may contain affiliate links, view our disclosure policy for details.
Dinosaur Train has a new flap book from Reader’s Digest out called “Let’s Go to Volcano Valley!” and they’ve offered one of my readers to win a copy!!
Here’s an excerpt about the book:
Get ready to board the Dinosaur Train and meet some new friends! Buddy, the adorable preschooler Tyrannosaurus Rex, and this adoptive Pteranodon family are always on the move. Today, they are going to Volcano Valley. Along the way, the train is making stops at the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous stations to make dozens of dinosaur discoveries. With more than 40 flaps tolift, kids will want to explore Buddy’s world again and again!
Did you know that the month of July is National Recreation and Parks month? The theme for this year’s month-long outdoor celebration is “Rock Your Park”! A perfect fit for the Dinosaur Train crew! The NRPA has listed ways that you and your family can celebrate outside this month! Our family loves visiting nature trails, geocaching, swimming, biking, exploring caves, and anything else that would lead us outdoors!
On July 4th Dinosaur Train has a new episode with Buddy and his friends as they play footprint detectives!! You don’t want to miss out on that which is airing on PBS kids! And on August 22, 2011 a new Dinosaur Train DVD (Dinosaur Big City) is coming out!
I makr sure I have the stories that interested my son most (like dinosaurs – he's obsessed)so he asks to read instead of it being a chore.

I wish I could say my family was doing a great deal outdoors; however, I live in a place where the typical temperature for these days ranges in the upper 80s. We will be playing outside for July 4th. 🙂
My favorite kid book at the moment is Memoirs of a Goldfish. It contains a moral to the story that even young students can grasp. Love it!
I now follow your blog! 🙂 My email address is jennkeys @ gmail . com
I encourage my students to love reading by making every book into an adventure. The books we read excite the students and grab their interest. Other stories I may read may invoke emotion that they can relate to in their own lives.
We started reading to our little one from birth and made it a routine at nap and bed time. Now my little one always wants books read

Even at 2yrs old my son 'reads' his Story Reader. He is great at getting involved with the story. Not so great at waiting to turn the pages 🙂
We encourage reading by providing lots of books. We have books all over the house, so he can read at any time, in any room.

I let my kids, ages 2 and 4, pick out their own books before bedtime and nap. We also read throughout the day. My daughter loves to listen to books on CD while I cook dinner. My kids also go to the programs that are offered at our local library.
Just recently found your blog through facebook and I LOVE it! I am about to start my masters in special ed and reading is important for all children. Right now I nanny for two one year old twin boys, we may not be able to get through a whole book but we do try to read several books a day to learn about our world!
([email protected])
With our own 3 daughters, we noticed they dropped the ball on reading as soon as school let out. We've challenged them to read 1000 books (all together) this summer. The reward is a trip to Great Wolf Lodge. They've been little reading machines and will soon make the goal!!

I encourage my son to love reading by reading to him since birth, daily, and going to the library often. Also we have lots of books.

We try to do something outdoors EVERY day – yesterday it was a wildlife safari in western pa, today I think it will just be our neighborhood park
We encourage it by reading to our kids at night and get them use to reading. My oldest ones are part of the summer reading program at the library.
