KidKraft Deluxe Let’s Cook Kitchen Review

I highly encourage imaginative play for children. With so many electronics encompassing our children today it’s easy for them to get caught up in needing things to keep them occupied instead of creating their own ideas. There are a nice collection of play kitchens to choose from as well as tons of accessories like play food, cooking utensils, etc. I decided to buy the KidKraft Deluxe Let’s Cook Play Kitchen.

This wooden play kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher, oven, refridgerator, and freezer which all open and close. The knobs that you see on the dishwasher and oven all turn so the kids can set their own fun! As you can see this is really quite a large play kitchen!!
It has a moveable clock face on the left side, and there is a phone that hangs up on the side of the fridge. It also came with the oven mitt and hanging wooden utensils you see on the kitchen wall. There is a HUGE amount of storage- that is definitely my FAVORITE feature!! Look at ALL that storage!

I ordered it and I received it within a week- and that was during the Thanksgiving week too! I was very pleased with quick shipping and tracking information. The day that it was dropped off at my house my husband had his master’s class that night, so he was not home to put it together for me. And you know of course that my boys wanted to play with it- so I decided how hard could it be? HAHA.
It actually wasn’t hard at all- BUT it took me a good 3 hours simply because I had a toddler & preschooler climbing in and out of all the new pieces I put together. There was a ton of pieces, but the directions were extremely simple to understand. I actually ended up taking my toddler and strapping in his highchair so that I could get something done! When I did let him down- he got stuck inside of the hole where the sink was supposed to go as I was building it!

So of course you know the kids LOVED it! What did mommy think? I loved how big it was. I wasn’t looking for a small kitchen- I wanted something that took a lot of space and gave the kids plenty of room to play-and this was it! I have 3 kids playing on it together everyday and they’ve got plenty of room to share.
I LOVE that it is wooden. I think that it will hold up better to the destruction of small children than a plastic kitchen would. Again, I LOVE the storage in this kitchen. I love the bright colors. The phone, clock, and grocery list encourage imaginative play which is a nice bonus.

When I was first looking at kitchens I really thought this one was cute because of the bright colors, but I was nervous because it was white- and I avoid white like the plague with my kids!! BUT I am SO glad that we chose to buy this kitchen. We all love it. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it to anyone looking for a play kitchen for their kids or preschool room.

I'm a special ed pre school teacher and I got this Kitchen for my class this summer. The kids love it and I too love the storage! I like that it does not make noise and the children can make the microwave beep and stove sizzle as they choose (not to mention the great oral motor exercise the noises are.) It is heavy and made of pressed boards so be very carful moving it. (I chipped a corner). I would buy it again for my active class ( I’m glad I don’t have to for this will last us 6 or 7 years- It was a bought with grant money which is very hard to come by.)

  3. Looks like a great kitchen. I like the fact that it can be enjoyed by boys as well as girls and in one picture I saw, it was a boy promoting it. I think my son will love something like this when he's old enough.
