Blurt! is a fantastic vocabulary game which is perfect for not only family games but also for classroom games! It is made for ages 7+, and has varying degrees of difficulty depending the age level- which really makes it appropriate for a broad range of users and ages!
The game comes with 1 dice, a box of vocabulary cards, the above 6 markers, and the Blurt! game board shown below.
(sorry this is sideways- for some reason it keeps flipping my picture!!)
The object of the game is to be able to BLURT out the correct vocabulary answers in response to the questions. Shout out the correct answer and move your pawn forward. Depending on the age level of children playing you can switch pawns and challenge other players with losing consequences!
My husband is an elementary school teacher and he used Blurt! in his classroom with simply just the vocabulary cards and then kept track of the points earned by each students group.
Check out a few of the questions you’ll find in this game:
Q: The nut of an oak tree
Q: A place where coins are made
Q: A British soldier in the Revolutionary War
Our oldest son is 3 years old and he was even able to participate in some of the very easy questions!
We really enjoyed playing this game, and my husband’s 2nd graders absolutely loved it! It’s a friendly competitive game for both kids and adults alike! Who can BLURT out the answer the quickest? I definetely recommend this as a fun family game, a game to strengthen vocabulary, and for use in both classrooms and homeschool families!
You can buy your own Blurt! on Amazon!
