Recently Best Buy has made some INCREDIBLE enhancements at all 43 of it’s Chicagoland stores – $20 million dollars of remodeling to an amazing new set up which I found MUCH easier for me to find what I was looking for! If you’ve ever walked into Best Buy with a blank look on your face figuring out which way you’re supposed to go – that feeling is gone now! The store is set up in categories like home theater, video games, Apple products, etc. that you can easily spot right when you walk in the door! A few weeks ago we checked out the Downers Grove location on Butterfield and both my husband and I were HIGHLY impressed!
From new fixtures and finished to new paint and lightning, carpeting and even bathrooms it’s a much more open feel and makes it feel a lot less scarier if you’re not really sure what you’re looking for! The home theater section highlights new TV technology (like 4K & UHD displays). Above you can see the Magnolia Design Center which features premium home theater brands like Denon, Polk, McIntosh, and Definitive Technology. You can design and have installed your own home theater experience here!
I just recently bought my very first Apple product (a Macbook Pro!) so of course the Apple products area and it’s sleek design immediately caught my eye! (and so did the Black Friday price for that iMac!! It was REALLY hard to walk by & not buy it!)
And this Intel area looks futuristic!
My mother in law is interested in purchasing an induction stovetop after using our Frigidaire Induction Range so we checked out their new appliance area which was just heavenly. I was totally drooling over their kitchens behind all the brand new shiny appliances!
Isn’t this AMAZING?!?! If I had a shopping spree at Best Buy I think it would be to build this kitchen in my house! This Downer’s Grove location is actually 1 of 6 Chicago Pacific Kitchen & Home stores where you can even find premium brands like Wolf, Viking, Miele, and Bosch. Did you know that you can actually work with a Pacific Sales representative to design an entire kitchen space?!
There was also a pretty sweet Camera Experience Shop area that caught my eye since I’m a photo hobbyist. On a long sleek semi-circle display you can see cameras from point & shoots to DSLRS, camcorders, lenses, and accessories.
In addition to these amazing new stores Best Buy is ALSO strengthening it’s local community ties as the lead sponsor for the Chicago City of Learning (a partnership between the Chicago Public Schools, DePaul University, the MacArthur Foundation & Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office). This initiave helps connect youth with out of school time and online learning opportunities so that kids can develop technology skills for the future. Students can actually earn digital badges when they participate in the program and complete online activities like learning how to code, mix digital music or even create short films!
Have you been to one of these new Chicagoland Best Buy stores? Let me know what you thought!
