Wummelbox – A Gift worth Buying for Kids

Imagine that this time machine can take you ANYWHERE that you want to go…..simply because you created it yourself…

Wummelbox

That’s what Wummelbox did for my kids. To be honest, I’ve shied away from doing any reviews on arts & craft boxes or crafty monthly subscriptions, because to be honest most of the ones I’ve seen just include little construction paper crafts that I could come up with myself. But when I learned about Wummelbox I was really impressed and wanted to take a closer look. Their craft set materials are not only eco-friendly but create projects that can be consistently used over and over again by your kids (ages 3-8)- like this time machine. It’s not an “ok I made this craft now it’s done” project. Each Wummelbox contains 3-4 themed projects in it, ours was a Stone Age theme. It included a neat card with a complete story that we read before we opened up our projects. Everything was professionally wrapped in tissue paper to separate out each project! We made a Time Machine, Cave Paintings, and a Hunter & Gatherer game. Both my 6 & 3 year old boys were easily able to participate.

I loved that it included absolutely everything we needed (except water of course!). They even included a pair of scissors as a gift.

My 6 year old thought this time machine was AWESOME and I was impressed at the sturdy wood pieces which were included! It came with easy-to-follow instructions, the base wood, paint, wooden “knobs”, the hardware to install the knobs and stickers.

My son spent hours with this Time Machine crafting it just perfectly to his liking, then playing with it when the paint was dry. He even took it to school the next week for his “Show and Tell”! The kids in his class thought it was awesome!

The wooden dials were pretty difficult to get on since the holes were a little smaller than the hardware but eventually we made it work. My son decided to color coordinate his sticker placement just as it was shown in the instructional guide. I LOVED this craft because of it’s quality. Even my husband was totally impressed by it. I couldn’t have been happier!!

While my 6 year old worked on his Time Machine my 3 year old got busy with his Cave Painting. All of these projects of course correlated with the story that we read as well!

On the included wooden knobs my son attached the small foam shapes to create stampers. He was just thrilled that he could actually create his own stamps.

He then used the provided watercolor paint and coated his new stampers, and placed them onto the included “canvas”.

This was such a simple idea but we LOVED it! It even included small velcro circles so that the kids could hang their cave painting up inside a tent!

It was a HUGE “sheet” of fabric so both boys ended up working on it together.

Pretty cool huh? Wummelboxes are geared for children 3-8 years old. These projects were perfect for any of those ages – both of my boys spent the entire afternoon working on their projects, and even part of the next day! Wummelbox has a retail value of $34.95 for a one time box with no subscription and I honestly have to say that this was worth it. It was an AWESOME box, high quality durable materials and my kids have used their projects many times since they created it. This would make a really cool gift for sure! You can also sign up for a 12 month subscription for just $19.95 per month which is again totally worth it. Plus shipping is always free so there are no hidden fees. If you are looking for something to keep your kids busy each month or a special gift for your grandkids – I HIGHLY recommend Wummelbox. We were thoroughly impressed with the quality and usefulness of these eco-friendly projects.

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this review. I received a Wummelbox to use in order to form my own opinions. All opinions are my own.
