We’re Headed to Gatorland!!

Our family LOVES Gatorland and when we lived in Florida they treated teachers amazing!! Every year they had free teacher admission – sometimes even for the entire family! We used to go with our toddler at the time and just spend hours walking around and looking for birds, gators, and all sorts of other reptiles. It was a blast!
It’s no Disney, but it’s a nice quiet day for our family without the huge crowds. There are a lot of hands-on activities (as you can see above!) which makes it ideal for our family. You can feed the budgies which is my son’s absolute favorite, you can pet gators and snakes, ride a little train around the property, go to gator wrestling shows and gator jumping shows, there is a petting zoo, and you can also pet/feed the deer and turkeys. And how could I forget about the playground and huge water play area? Not to mention Gatorland’s new Screamin’ Zip Line which we have not tried yet – you can take a cable zip line over a swamp of gators – yikes! (although I’m sure my son would ask to go!)
I like that Gatorland is a very family-oriented place to visit, as well as educational. We found the most affordable way to go was to purchase an annual pass which we did a year ago. We currently do not have passes as we opted for the zoo this year (we change our annual passes every year). My boys are always asking to go back to Gatorland though. So today is a big surprise for them.

There are lots and lots and LOTS of gators there. But to be honest we hardly glance at the gators. We go there just to be together as a family for a relaxing low-key day. It’s a bit expensive to go at regular admission price (I can’t remember what that is and the website only shows the special October pricing) but if you live close it’s worth it for an annual pass, or to visit during their special pricing events. You can even eat gator ribs *YUM* at their cafe too!
