Tassimo T20 Brewbot Review

To kick off our Back 2 School bash this month we have an awesome review from Tassimo! They sent me the T20 Brewbot to review along with a pack of coffee discs, a pack of tea discs, and an interchangeable color accesory brewer kit. Discs you ask? Keep reading! The T20 Brewbot I received was all black, but you can see above that I have inserted the blue brewer kit for a nice splash of color! I LOVED that you could color coordinate your machine with your kitchen! The Brewer Kits comes in Mint Blue (shown above), Hazelnut Brown, Strawberry Red, and Lime Green.
 
 
Here is the machine as it comes without the brewer kit- all black. I received the Gevalia Signature Blend Coffee as well as the Twinings English Breakfast Tea. If you have never heard of Tassimo- you are in for a fun treat! Coffee filters and coffee beans are a thing of the past- and messy too! Tassimo coffee machines use little pods called T-Discs of prepackaged coffee, tea, cappucino, latte, cream, espresso, and hot cocoa! The T-discs come in the boxes you see above so that you can neatly store them on your countertop and just pull out a pod when needed.

 

 
This here is the inside of the lid when you open it up. Below you can see one of the T-Discs of coffee. There is a barcode on the top of the package, and you insert it upside down into the Tassimo machine. There is NO need to open the pod or anything- it is completely self conatined! No mess! Tassimo, made by Bosch, actually has barcodes on their T-discs. The machine then reads the barcodes so that it knows exactly how to make your beverage! Talk about inventive! Tassimo T-discs brands come in Tazo, Twinings, Tassimo, Carte Noire, Gevalia Kaffe, Jacobs, Kenco, Maxwell House Cafe Collection, Mastro Lorenzo, Nabob, Suchard, and Milka.

 

 
The one question I’ve heard a lot is “Aren’t the coffee discs expensive?”. To be honest- yes and no. If you only drink coffee from the beans at home, it is a little bit more expensive (but in my opinion it’s worth it!). If you even occasionally grab a cup of coffee out at Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, or even your local gas station- then you will be saving a bundle investing in a Tassimo! The average consumer spends over $400 a year in coffee! You can purchase the T-Discs for as little as $.37 per cup of coffee! Bags of the T-discs generally contain 16 discs and range from $5-10. For my birthday my husband bought me the hot chocolate T-discs and it was so cool! I couldn’t believe that you could brew the hot chocolate out of those little plastic discs!
 
 
I was so excited when Tassimo offered to participate in our Back 2 School Bash because their coffee machines are absolutely perfect for a quick cup of coffee on the go! My husband was extra excited because he thought this was an awesome idea for a teacher’s lounge. At his school they cannot have a regular coffee maker because of the open heating element. The Tassimo T20 Brewbot would be absolutely perfect for the teachers lounge. It doesn’t take up a lot of room, there’s no open heating element, and teachers can simply purchase their own T-discs whenever they want coffee at work.
 
We had always been dreaming about getting a Tassimo and were very excited to receive it. I have to honestly say that I don’t think there is a day that goes by that we don’t use our machine. I think when I’m not looking my husband still googles over it! 🙂 I do wish that they had a bigger tea selection though. It’s very simple to use, just put some water in the back compartment (we usually do this once a week), turn the machine on, pop in a T-disc of your choice, and hit the start button!
Now there is one feature that drives me nuts but my husband loves. After your coffee, tea, espresso, or whatever you have made is finished brewing it leaves enough room in your cup for milk and sugar. Great for my husband, not so great for me! You can push the button on the machine to finish filling your beverage up to the top of the cup, but it does turn off if you don’t catch it in time. So more often than not I drink my coffee mostly full!

  285. The Chai Tea Latte sounds awesome. I always drink coffee at home in the mornings, but a lot of the time I feel rushed.
