All children have fears- and learning about fears, whether at home or at school, can help children overcome them. Scare Me Not actually helps children to face their fears a different way- with a friend! They offer a monster for your child’s monster! I loved the idea when I first heard about it! My son is afraid of the dark, which can be quite bothersome in the middle of the night when he wakes up ALL NIGHT LONG because “I heard a noise”!!! Not to mention having to leave the lights on all night!

 

Scare Me Not has a gang of monsters, with special velcro tails, which you can hang in your child’s room to “keep them safe at night”.  You can hang them in the closet, from the blinds, on the doorknob, or as my son prefers- sleeping in bed with him! Now my kids do not like stuffed animals- they never have. They won’t even play with them. But ever since “Protector Patty” has arrived, she goes everywhere with us! My son even hangs her on the doorknob while he’s taking a bath! He actually doesn’t play with her as a toy- he uses her as a friend. He even shares his snacks with her! It’s great to see him sharing with something else- even if it is Patty the monster!

 

 

My son feels like “Protector Patty” – AKA “Patty”, will protect him wherever he goes, and he feels much more confident about going through the house while it’s dark, and being able to stay in bed easier at night. We’ve had less problems with nightmares this week, and my son seems much happier when we leave him by himself in bed every night because Patty is there with her 10 eyes (5 in the front & 5 in the back) watching his room all night!
Scare Me Not even has a monster called “Deep Breath Dudley” which was specifically made for children going through testing and life with sleeping and pulmonary issues! I wish we had Dudley when my son was younger and going through a lot of hospital testing! Dudley only comes in travel-size which is, in my opinion, the perfect size for a child to take with them when they have any scary appointments or tests.

These monsters from Scare Me Not are a fantastic idea in a preschool and elementary room as well! They are so friendly and would definitely be a great aid to a teacher when talking to the students about fears and things that they are scared of. It could even affectionately be your classroom’s mascot! I can imagine one hanging right by the door when they enter the classroom!
My son went from being scared of monsters to wanting a whole gang of them in his room! Now I’m sure he will be scared of the dark again eventually, but now he’s got a special friend to hug when he does get scared. Patty has provided a very resourceful tool to us in helping my son overcome his fear of the dark. We love Scare Me Not and recommend them to everyone- especially for kids under 10! They were very friendly to work with, and we received Patty very quickly! And I recommend them for classrooms as well as at home! These friendly monsters can help your kids no matter where they are at.
Scare Me Not has 2 different sizes- a travel size monster for $14.99, and a full size monster for $24.99. The full sized monsters are really quite huge! I wasn’t expecting Patty to be so big! They also have a special deal where you will get free standard shipping when your order 2+ monsters.
