Are you a preschool teacher or have a kiddo trying to learn their letters or letter sounds?  These Alphabet Sticks that Roylco sent me to review are so simple and fun. There are SO many activities that you can do with them and they are a great hands-on literacy tool when working with kids.

It includes 96 color-coordinated sticks that come in a small plastic jar with lid that is easy to store. On one side of the stick is the uppercase letter and on the other side is the lowercase letter. Plus all consonants are BLUE and all vowels are RED.

As you can see they are pretty simple little cards on a stick but they are the perfect size for little hands and we came up with TONS of activities to do with them! One if having the students pair up the appropriate uppercase and lowercase letters.

You can also have them separate out consonants and vowels.

My youngest son is heading off to Pre-K this year and we used the Alphabet Sticks to learn which letters he did and did not. We had him pick up any two sticks that he wanted to use, and we asked him WHICH stick had a specific letter, to which he then needed to hold that specific letter out. It was a fun hands-on way to get him involved and held his attention longer than just pointing out letters on a page.

If you have students that are learning to spell these also make a fun way to encourage the kids to spell new words! You can also use them to teach the difference of when to use/not use capital letters at the beginning of the word.

They retail for $11.99 and are pretty sturdy although you could even laminate them if desired and use a velcro dot in the back to create your own letter activity board! These are great to have around for preschool-mid elementary age depending on the literacy level. They don’t take much room to store and I love the container it comes in. I also love that they are very versatile which makes it ideal for homeschoolers too because you can use them as your child is learning their letters all the way up as they are learning to spell too!
