A little different note than my usual postings- we had the fabulous opportunity through Disney to go to see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides last night! My husband and I were SO excited! Not only because we enjoy the Pirates movies and my husband was dying to check out the new one, but also because we don’t get a chance to go to the movie theatre much. It’s usually our splurge once (maybe twice) a year! When we arrived around 7PM last night there was already quite the line up out the door for the midnight showing! I couldn’t believe that people were already starting to line up! Wowee!!
I wasn’t sure what to expect as this Pirates movie did not have all of the main characters as it’s previous movies, and the storyline was completely different. But Disney did a great job keeping up the pirates aura! The storyline was great- it incorporated so many of the other characters for the entire movie which I really think helped the storyline! I enjoyed seeing many familiar faces throughout the evening.
Captain Jack Sparrow claimed “It’s not the destination but the journey” – which threw an unusual twist on things during the movie. It was interesting to see so many different reasons for the journey that they were all competing to complete first. This movie is based around “the journey”- the journey for what? Well, you’ll have to watch it to find out! 🙂
Very good- it has lived up to it’s piratey standards! It is rated PG-13 so not for your younger kiddos. We had a fantastic time and appreciated the opportunity to participate! If you like the other Pirates of the Carribean movies this one is a must see. If you haven’t seen the other ones- they’re really great! If you are going to see Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides- make sure you watch through all of the credits!! The majority of our theatre had left before they were over- and there is an awesome surprise ending you don’t want to miss!
