I have to say that this is one of the coolest construction kits we have come across! It is the first construction toy set for kids made that features LED lights! Sent to us by LaserPegs.com, this construction kit, called Mini Monster Bug includes 32 laser pegs, one peg cord, and the power base (3 AA needed are not included) as well directions on how to build your bug! You can also download directions online so that you can design 9 different models with this kit!

This kit is geared for ages 7 and up. Although my son is only 4 years old it was very simple for him to help my husband build this kit. It was a great project for dad/son to enjoy together and really helps my son to work on teamwork!

The directions are very simple to understand, and the pieces attach together very easily. There is really nothing difficult at all about this kit!

My son had an absolute blast building this mini monster bug. It only took about 15-20 minutes for my husband and son to build this together.

Once the model kit is built, it’s time to get the power base all set up. We simply unscrewed the three corners of the triangle base, inserted 3 AA batteries (not included), and screwed it back together again! A peg cord is included which attached the bug to the base. Simply press the red button to turn the bug on, and press the button again to turn it off.

I took a short video so you could see a better view of our mini-monster bug laser peg kit from LaserPegs.com and so that you could actually see the LED lights in action on the bug!

What did we think? Very very cool! Definitely an awesome kit to give or receive as a gift!! This model kit that we received is priced at $24.99 which is a comparable price to other extensive model kits. The laser pegs are very good quality and we have had no problems at all with any breaking or issues manipulating the pegs. The neat thing about this model kit is that it is interchangeable with any of the other pegs from LaserPegs.com other model kits. So you can combine several kits together to really form an army of laser lights!!
Disclosure: I was not compensated for this review. I received a laser bug to build. All opinions are 100% mine.
