Yep! I told you we’d be doing pine cone crafts for a while and making pine cone tracks was tons of fun! All you need is washable paint, paper, and pine cones! Pour the paint in a plate or dish. We had several different plates with different colored paint.

Hold the pine cones by the ends and roll it in the paint color you want to track with.

Then simply roll the paint covered pine cone across your paper and check out the cool “tracks” it leaves behind! As you use different colors you can use the same pine cone or different ones! Roll two different pine cones side by side and observe the different tracks each leaves behind.

As each colored pine cone is rolled colors will begin mixing together to form not only a unique pattern but also unique colors.

After my kids were done making their tracks with the pine cone they decided to just make “roads” on their paper which pretty much just consisted of diving into their paint and smearing it around!! 🙂
