Literature Mondays: No More Monsters For Me

One of my favorite childhood books- No More Monsters for Me! by Peggy Parish- is our focus for Literature Monday today!
All Minneapolis Simpkin ever wanted was a pet. But her mom said NO! So when she found a baby monster, she snuck him down into the basement…..till he grew SO large he could barely fit up the stairs and through the doorway! A monster is a hard thing to keep secret, especially one that hiccups and cries, and gets bigger every hour….what was Minneapolis Simpkin to do?
This is just the cutest book and monsters are always a fun one for kids! This book is written by Peggy Parish, who also wrote the more well-known series Amelia Bedelia.
*A side note- everywhere I read that this is a level 1 book which I highly disagree with! I read it to my son, but this is better for around a 2nd grade age to read by themselves.

I have to get that one ! I like her "Amelia Bedelia" series so I know this one will be a winner too.
