I took the boys with me to Gymboree this past week to some shopping since they’ve recently launched their new (and adorable!) back to school line! They even had sales on their new clothes! There was a whole section that was 25% off and let’s not forget about the clearance! AND they even had really crisp sweet looking school uniforms! Above you can see that of course my boys immediately found a pair of shark shirts in the clearance section so we bought those too. I LOVE the quality of the t-shirts – especially with how dirty my kids get and how hard they play! It’s like my kids are focused on wearing out their outfits!! In the midst of the back to school frenzy don’t forget to let your kids wear their new clothes and snap a few photos of them!

The main goal of the shopping trip, however, was to purchase nice clothes for the back to school season. I was so torn – my son’s school does not require uniforms but I absolutely LOVED how nice the school uniforms were at Gymboree. The polo shirts came in all sorts of colors (red, white, black, blue) and the shorts did too. The Uniform Belted Shorts were wrinkle-resistant and had great looking belts attached to them. The entire set just looked SO sharp! But I promised my son he could help pick out his own clothes and he chose instead some really nice-looking (and comfy!) Belted Cargo Shorts that he fell in love with because of the front buckle. I also especially liked them because they were thin and my son tends to get really overheated when he is running around. (They have recess at least three times a day!)

I also spotted a great section of Always Soft Pocket Tees  that were 25% off making it under $10 a shirt! I was all over that as my son can get irritated by tags and these shirts had none. They were still very stylish but super comfortable for my son to wear to school. And not only that but there were quite a few different colors and styles of shoes at Gymboree which was perfect because my son desperately needed new sneakers for school. They had about one of each size on the racks, both tie and velcro styles, and we were easily able to slip the shoes on in the store to make sure they fit. We chose the Uniform Athletic Sneaker for the simple fact that they had velcro!

Although we didn’t buy any there were also fantastic selections of underwear, socks, ties, lunchboxes and bookbags. I LOVED the adorable monster and rocket ship backpacks and lunchboxes – they were just the cutest things! You can check them out here. I would have bought them but my son’s school requires really large backpacks due to the winter gear that the kids need here when it gets cold. AND the jeans were on a GREAT sale too – Buy 1 Get 1 50% OFF!

Here you can see one of the Uniform Pique Polo Shirts in the Gymboree Back to School School Uniforms line that we bought. I wish you could see it better because it’s such a good quality shirt. It is made of thick textured material and looks as if it will outlast my son’s rough play!

Here is another one of those soft tees that we bought from Gymboree – I LOVED the colors! They go great with the shorts my son picked out. Another reason my son picked out these shorts is because he has an obsession with pockets and these shorts have plenty! I am very particular about my son being comfortable in what he wears to school as his school keeps the kids very active. I mentioned that they have recess three times a day, P.E. twice a week and regular classroom activities that take the kids outdoors. In the winter they spend much of their recess on the sledding hill when it is covered in snow so my son needs clothes that will move with him!

Here’s a little glimpse of the outfits I found in Gymboree while we were doing our back to school shopping. I absolutely LOVED the outfit selections that they had hanging – it was SO much easier for me to see great combinations of outfits. My son is not a huge “button down shirt” fan otherwise I would have paired these outfits together for him. I LOVE the preppy but comfortable boy styles that Gymboree featured.

The employee working in the store while I was shopping was just fabulous and had all sorts of great sale info and suggestions for me too which I appreciated it. I have to say that I was pretty lucky – the mall playground was literally right in front of Gymboree which made shopping easier for me as I could send my husband and the kids to play while I finished up the shopping!

Gymboree has always had high quality kids clothing and I was actually really impressed with what I was able to get in my budget! For $108 + tax I purchased sneakers and 5 pieces of clothing (cargo shorts, a polo shirt, and 4 tees).  These outfits are going to last beyond when my kids will outgrow them which is perfect because my youngest will be getting all of the hand-me-downs!

A special thanks to Gymboree for providing us a gift card in order to complete this review.
