A is for “ALL ABOARD!”

A is for “All Aboard!” is a wonderful children’s book which offers vocabulary words -from A to Z- which is centered around- TRAINS! As you can see from the cover this book has beautiful bright colors, and is very simply designed. This is a great book which promotes literacy based on many children’s favorite subject. 

Each letter of the alphabet is displayed in large print with a simple solid color surrounding it. Below each letter is the word(s) which that letter stands for- all describing something to do with trains. And below that word(s) is a short description of what the word means. As soon as we received the book in the mail my son saw a train and he was sold! He grabbed the book and ran over, plopped down on the bed, and begged me to read it to him. He sat and checked out everything on each page while I read him every single word. And when we finished the book, he asked me to read it again! 
 I loved this children’s book. It immediately captures children’s interest just from the sole fact that it is about trains. I love that it is so brightly colored which makes its visual appeal very catching for children. I think that children will not only enjoy this book, but will also learn more about trains as well. My son now understands what a double decker train is, he immediately recognized the caboose, and also knows now what a “Kettle”, “Idler”, and “Zephyr” are! This also is a great book for children with special needs.
The alphabet letters are very large and can be easily spotted as soon as the page is turned. The bright colors, detailed information, and large uncluttered pictures are perfect for children to learn more about or enjoy the simplicity of it. This book has been especially well-accepted by those with autistic children.
