I Love You More Than Chocolate Book Review

We received I Love You More Than Chocolate by Melanie Milburn to review which also launches her current book tour as well as our first Valentine’s giveaway for the year! Included with the book was a CD of Melanie singing “I Love You More Than Chocolate” and my kids loved it!! It’s like an audiobook but put to song! My kids are huge fans of audiobooks so following along with Melanie’s CD was no different! In fact it was easier for them to repeat since it was set to music! My kids absolutely loved this book – partly because it’s about chocolate, but the book itself is full of rhyming words and cute illustrations too. In fact now that we’re read the book so many times my kids will also play the “I Love You More Than…” game even without the book!

I love you more than the color blue.
I love you more than a day at the zoo.
I love you more….no matter what you do.
I love you more than chocolate!

I love that the book rhymes throughout the entire story – it really gets kids to think and work on their literary skills too! This is now one of my boys favorite bedtime stories and we’re enjoying learning how to rhyme as well throughout the day just so they can play the “I Love You More Than…” game! The book is so cute and full of simple familiar illustrations on beautiful scrapbook-style pages. My kids loved everything from the butterflies to bunnies, cupcakes, baseballs, and of course – chocolate!

AND the book is simple enough to read for intermediate readers!! My son can read this himself which he loves – it helps even further fuel his love for reading!

You can purchase your own copy of I Love You More Than Chocolate on Amazon right now for $16.95!
About Melanie Milburn:

This book was inspired after Melanie and her daughter had begun a nightly rhyming game after reading bedtime stories. “I Love You More”…..there were only two rules – it had to rhyme and it had to be something they loved. It’s amazing what simple things can inspire such cute kid’s books! She is a preschool director and loves sharing her songs and books at family concerts, library story time, and benefit fundraisers. You can learn more about Melanie Milburn, her book, and her music at www.melaniemilburn.com
