Whether you’re looking for a historical figure to make into a toilet paper tube recycled craft for kids or you’re studying Albert Einstein (check out our awesome 5 day Albert Einstein Unit Study FULL of themed activities, snacks, writing prompts & more) this is a fun easy craft for kids to make! I used acrylic paint in mine but you can easily pre-cut out pieces of construction paper if you’re working with preschoolers! If you’re a teacher you can always cut down paper towel rolls if you don’t want to use toilet paper tubes.
Materials Needed:
toilet paper tube
dark grey, white or light grey, and flesh colored paint
2 googly eyes
cotton batting
STEP 1 – Paint your toilet paper tube all dark grey and let dry.
STEP 2 – Using your flesh colored paint create a face as shown in the photo above. Let dry.
STEP 3 – Paint a white or light grey “V” for Einstein’s shirt. Take the end of your paintbrush and make 3 “dots” down the front of the toilet paper tube for his buttons on his suit.
STEP 4 – Using a very thing paint brush squiggle a grey mustache on Einstein’s face. I actually made very small “x”s and criss-crossed them across the front.
STEP 5 – Glue on the google eyes.
STEP 6 – Pull a big wad of cotton batting and stuff it into the top of the toilet paper tube!

Students will research scientists and case studies to understand how different research and discoveries came to be. Once they have selected a person of interest, students will create a mini model out of paper rolls. For an example, see this toilet paper roll model of Albert Einstein. […]
