Thumbprint Apple Tree

Today to celebrate Johnny Appleseed’s birthday we made thumbprint apple trees using tempera paint. I poured brown, green, and red washable paint on a disposable plate, and my son put the brown paint all over his finger to make the tree trunk.
Then I showed him how to make thumbprints (which ended up being more like smear marks!!) for the green foliage. Then dip your finger into the red and make fingerprints for the apples! It is VERY easy and lots of fun!!Â
