Smens Gourmet Scented Pens Review

This post may contain affiliate links, view our disclosure policy for details.

I received a bag of Smens (Gourmet Scented Pens) from Educational Insights last week and they are surprisingly fun! I know I would have absolutely loved them as a kid/teenager! The really cool thing is that they are made from recycled newspaper! I loved that you (or your kids) can have fun smelling each variety while writing and be eco-friendly at the same time!

These Smens come in the following “flavors”/scents:
Pink Lemonade
Banana FoFanana
Passion Fruit
Mocha
Ninja Berry
Aloha
Creamsicle
Red Licorice
Black Licorice
and a Mystery Scent!
Each Smens is enclosed in a separate plastic tube and each Smens is guaranteed to keep it’s flavorful smell for two years! The plastic tubes are biodegradable as well. We had a lot of fun with these Smens! My son is a bit young for pens, but to be honest he loved them because of the “odorific” sensory experience! He sat there with my husband and sniffed, sniffed sniffed away!

These Smens are a lot of fun for both kids and adults to be honest! I don’t use pens much but I would have loved having Smens even in college!! These are a fun gift and any kid- not just your artsy ones- are sure to have fun with all of the different scents! I remember as a kid I used to love anything scented- pens, stationary, envelopes, etc.

Thanks to my friends over at Educational Insights one of my readers will win their own set of Smens Gourmet Scented Pens!

I also loved the scented Mr. Sketch markers and fiddlesticks (they weren't scented I think) and as someone posted above my Strawberry Shortcake dolls. I had the one that blew scented kisses! I also had a barbie dream kitchen that smelled like cookies baking and that thing was one of my favorite Christmas presents ever.

Remember those scented magic markers? We had them in art class in elementary school. They came in styrofoam containers and, I think, many of us left the art room with a nice little buzz! The red cherry was everyone's favorite and the black licorice was hated – I don't think ANYONE colored anything black with those things! I wonder if officials and psychologists made any weird theories based on the lack of black in our art!!!
