Saturday Afternoon Chat with The Teachers Wife

Welcome to all my new followers! I know many of you have found me lately through all of the back to school sale ads I’ve been posting! It’s nice to see so many new faces here! You can learn more about me and my family here!  This site is all about saving money and helping you find great resources to help promote education – whether in your home or in your classroom.

What I love about the readers here at Surviving a Teachers Salary is that we are a wide network- full of parents, grandparents, college students, teachers, professors, and more! We all want to learn how to save more  money and stretch our budget, and we all believe that every child should receive a good education- regardless of income, status, color, or background.

My initial goal in starting this blog was to help teachers survive on their incomes (most of them make a lot less than you would think!), but I quickly realized that my passion for children and education spread much further than that.

Throughout the year you will find craft ideas, educational activities, experiments, resources, sales, educational product reviews, giveaways, guest posts and videos from my husband (an elementary teacher) and so much more!

Now that I’ve been blogging almost a year I would love to also help supplement our income a little better….but I will never exchange that for the quality of this blog! I do not accept products to review that are not educational or money saving. I’m sure you may see something once in a very great while that doesn’t fall into this category, but 99% of my reviews/giveaways fit into that category.

I will never do sponsored posts about taxi cabs, flea treatments, or any other weird conglomerate of things that you might see on other sites just to make a quick buck. (Yes, I actually do get all sorts of paid requests like this!) I also refuse to do advertising for anything that is not pertinent to this site. Any of my long-time readers can verify this!

Have any questions? Want to introduce yourself? Feel free to leave a comment below or email me at [email protected] I look forward to hearing from you!
