Mythic Paint Review
Mythic Paint is a non-toxic ultra low-odor paint that is completely safe for kids, pets, and the earth! I chose to do this review because essentially this blog is all about kids and their safety and education. I think that this is one of the best options you can choose when considering to paint a room, especially when remodeling a children’s room, classroom, or preschool/daycare.
Mythic Paint is SO kid-friendly that they do not even need a warning label on the paint can! I found that incredible! There are NO VOC’s or carcinogens in their paint- ever! No toxic solvents = no toxic smell! The slight odor from sniffing the paint can was actually a very sweet smell to be honest. But I had to seriously stick my nose right in the can to even smell it! This is the perfect paint to use not only with kids, but the healthiest option in general.
I received 2 gallons of Mythic Paint to test for myself. I wasn’t really sure what to expect since I had never used an eco-friendly kid-friendly paint before! I started out a little nervous to be honest!

Here’s a quick sneak peek at our Before & After photos!
Before

After

Amazing huh? We chose “Pumpkin Pie” from Mythic Paint’s Land of Nod collection. We wanted something bright and kid-friendly since we have kids of our own and have children over every day.
I was SO excited to try out this review for Mythic Paint. We opened up our paint cans…and was surprised at how very little it smelled- even sniffing right into the can! You could tell it was a paint smell, but not a bad one, just a sweet smell and not very strong. We did not prime our walls- we just painted right over the yellow walls. I was getting very nervous because the wet paint was EXTREMELY bright! And since it was the week of Halloween- everyone thought it was a joke! 🙂 (seriously!)

Immediately when we poured the paint into the paint tray we noticed that it was thick (a very good thick!), so we chose to use a very big paint roller (1/2 inch knap). My husband was absolutely amazed at how wonderful the paint went on. It spread so well! Nice and thick. It was not runny at all. Because we have two small children we painted at night so that we did not have little hands in our wet paint! We used 1 entire gallon for our whole living room for our first coat. (1 gallon is supposed to cover 350-400 square feet)

By morning everything was completely dry- and upheld little kids running around in the room till the next night when we could apply our second coat! Because “Pumpkin Pie” is a darker color we did need to apply 2 coats. The first coat dried a little streaky so I was a bit nervous about trying to fix it later. Painting the 2nd coat was SO much easier even than the first coat since we already had the orange paint on the wall. We were able to use a lot less paint for the 2nd coat, and it applied so incredibly nice!

Our entire living room was painted using the 2 gallons that Mythic Paint sent us, and we had plenty of leftover for touchups later down the road. (with kids- you always need touch up paint!) When we checked out our walls the morning after our second coat we were extremely impressed. The paint had dried darker like we were hoping, it was not streaky at all, and it REALLY looked like a high quality room!

We were highly impressed with Mythic Paint. I was wondering if it would be cheap paint because it was eco-friendly but I would definitely buy this the next time I want to paint my walls. It beats the quality of any paint we’ve ever used. It’s top-notch quality and a HUGE plus that it is non-toxic for my boys.

My son woke up the morning after we were done painting and he said “WOW MOM- I LOVE our orange walls! THANK YOU THANK YOU for painting our walls orange!” It made me smile knowing that even if he had gotten into our paint cans (which he thankfully did not!) that they would not have harmed him in any way!

A gallon will run you about $40-60 depending on what type you buy but this product is definetely worth the investment. I consider this a very affordable investment when you are talking about your children, their health and their safety. Mythic Paint always offers FREE SHIPPING which I think is fabulous! Their paint has outperformed both eco-friendly and regular paint competitors in lab testing and has received the quality seal for the “Scrub Test” as well. (the highest award of its kind)

They offer a 1232-color palette in both interior and exterior finishes and can mix any color from any competitor or any imagination that you produce! They offer all sheens from flat to high gloss, ceiling paint, interior drywall primer, and a very unique interior/exterior multi-purpose primer. To clean your walls simply use water and a mild dish liquid!

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this review. I did receive a free sample to review. All opinions are 100% mine. Yours may vary.

I would pick Morning Song. I'm not sure but I think we'd paint the living room and my son's room, we have very small rooms (our two bed townhouse is only around 800sqft). When we moved in 2½yrs ago our landlord said we could paint but I ended up pregnant and we were too scared too. The walls, also, haven't been painted in at least 5yrs now and they really need it (I had to scrub a crayon drawn Nemo fish, and blood off the walls when we moved in >.<)

  131. When we first bought our house, we bought some yellow paint for the home office and lavender for the bedroom. We started painting the office and realized that what looked fairly pale on a little chip was overly bright over a whole room. We feared the bedroom would turn out the same, and we talked about getting another gallon of white and mixing together for a lighter shade, but we never did, and I don't know if there's an expiration date on paint, so it may not even be any good anymore. Anyway, with that in mind, I like the Love Match color in the purple palette. It looks like it would be the pale color we're looking for in that room.
