AMC has Sensory Friendly Films!!

After reading about the Lion King Broadway production that just showed which was autism friendly, I found that AMC now has Sensory Friendly Films which are autism/sensory friendly!! Have you ever been to one?? I am so excited!! It is only in certain locations (find sensory friendly locations here) but it seems they show about one film a month in these locations. There are actually quite a few near me so I will definitely have to check it out!! You can find more information about AMC’s Sensory Friendly Films program as well as request that a location near you participate on their site.
My son does OK at a regular film most of the time, but we have quickly learned that 3D movies are totally out of the question. I’m trying to find out exactly what they do other than tone down the volume at these sensory friendly viewings – have you ever been to one? I’d love to hear about your experience!!
(I also read in the news that the Broadway shows in New York want to do more autism-friendly plays!!)
