Looking for the Best Deal on Fireworks

Every year on the 4th of July and on New Years Eve our family tradition since our boys are little is to do our own fireworks down at the end of our driveway! Nothing fancy or grandeous but still a blast for our boys and us. One year we found a great fireworks stand on the side of the road and took $3 to buy a few small things. (they had several fireworks for under $1)  When we got up to the cashier/owner he asked if we were buying the fireworks for our boys. When he found out we were he told us to just take them and that we didn’t need to pay. It was such a simple yet very kind gesture – I won’t forget it.

So the next year we couldn’t find his fireworks tent and decided that all the on-the-side-of-the-road tents must have reasonably priced fireworks – WHOA were we wrong! We tried 2 tents and the cheapest little fireworks were about $3 each! We spent almost $10 just on 4 fireworks and felt like we barely had anything! So this year we decided to buy a $9.99 pack at Target since we were there. We didn’t necessarily have the $10 to buy fireworks but our boys have been asking for them lately and I felt it was a much better use of our money than spending the same amount on 1/4 of the fireworks at a road-side tent!

If you live near a state border many of them will have huge firework outlet stores – utilize them! SOME road-side tents have great prices if you want only a small amount of fireworks for your kids. If you feel they are too pricey head to your local Walmart or Target as chances are the prices are much better. Fireworks in general are not very affordable and really a bit of a splurge but after seeing the prices last year I felt pretty happy with our buy at Target. We got about 20 different fireworks for just under $10 so my boys will be very surprised tonight!

Don’t forget that you can purchase a $10 pack of fireworks and save half of them for the 4th of July –  you don’t HAVE to use them all in one night!
