Holiday Traditions: Putting up the Christmas Tree

Every year families all around the world begin to celebrate the holidays regardless of their religious preferences, whether it’s by shopping for presents, throwing parties, or decorating! Maybe it’s just simply playing outside in the snow, or spraying your sunny windows and pretending there is snow like us here in Florida!! 🙂 So we’ve kicked off our holiday season by putting up the Christmas tree! Every year our family drags out the Christmas tree and we all join in on the ritual of putting it together! My kids LOVE it! In fact this is the time of year when they are the biggest helpers! 🙂
Putting the Christmas tree up together as a family is all about teamwork and building memories. Our kids will remember the holiday seasons when they are older by spending quality family time together. My oldest son always goes crazy looking for the top of the tree and the tree topper star!
This year my youngest found the fun decorations he could pull out and switch all of the lights and sounds on for!
As my husband and I were putting the tree together the boys eagerly eyed the ornaments which are the last to be pulled out around here.
We have an advent calendar that we display every year. Inside are little candies and goodies. Every day during December we get to open up that door number that corresponds with the date on the calendar and everyone gets to share the goodies! I also have a growing collection of nutcrackers and snow globes. The nutcrackers are my favorite!
