Fruit Smoothie Recipe

Remember my post yesterday on How to Save Money on Produce? Well one way that we use all of our frozen fruit during the year is by making smoothies! Healthy and fun for the kids to help and make!! There is no right or wrong way to make a smoothie, just dump everything in your blender and get started!!

For this smoothie (it changes every time we make it!) I use our frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, 1 cup of ice, bananas, yogurt, milk, and flax seed for some extra protein for my kiddos. (You can’t taste the flax seed when you drink it.)
Here is the flax seed I put on top. You can buy it whole or ground. I buy mine whole and just grind it in the coffee grinder. Flax seed is very healthy and a sneaky way to add in those extra nutrients. I don’t think I’ve ever even noticed it was in my food- and my kids certainly don’t know it! We even sprinkle it in peanut butter & jelly sandwiches!

Just blend it and serve!!

There are so many different things you can put in your smoothies. Why not try oranges, pineapple, mango, kiwi, or any other fruit that you have readily available in your area!

Smoothie looks great, we are big fans of smoothies. What a great looking blender. What kind is it?

Hmmmm Jeanne I can't remember, maybe a Hamilton Beach? It's specifically called "Smoothie Freeze". I'm out of town right now so I actually can't look it up but can check it when I get home tomorrow! Will also work on stumbling tomorrow too! 🙂
