Attention Teachers!
The Kids In Need Foundation introduces a new teacher grants program sponsored by Elmer’s Products Inc., an industry leader in adhesives, arts and crafts, office and educational products.

You can apply for an Elmer’s Teacher Tool Kit grant that can range from $100 to $500. The grants will be given to teachers who wish to conduct classroom projects selected from a catalog of more than 500 projects. There is also a link to this application on the Elmer’s website, www.elmers.com, and X-ACTO website, www.xacto.com. This year, approximately 250 grants sponsored by Elmer’s will be provided to teachers nationwide for projects to be completed during the upcoming 2011-2012 school year.

For 13 years Kids In Need has been funding exceptional classroom projects through our Teacher Grants program. Now the funding to conduct these projects in your own classroom will be available. We believe creative lesson plans should be an active part of any school’s core curriculum, something Elmer’s believes, also. Together we will provide teachers with the tools to strengthen critical thinking skills, creativity, and core knowledge among students.

The Elmer’s Teacher Tool Kit grant awards will be based on:

  • financial need
  • description of how the particular project meets the educational needs of the students and satisfies the state standards or curriculum requirements of the school
  • the number of students who will benefit from the project

Please Note: Special consideration will be given to first year teachers, but all certified K-12 teachers are encouraged to apply.
Kids In Need greatly appreciates Elmer’s sponsorship of this program, another way to engage students in the learning process and support students’ success at school and in the future.
