DIY Little Girl’s Butterfly Headband Tutorial

I am ALL about DIY accessories – not only are they (usually) cheaper to make but you can completely customize it exactly how you want it! Do you know a little girl (or mom) who loves headbands? If so, put this sweet spring headband on your to do list! You can craft your own in just minutes, and the end result is sure to make any little girl feel like a spring queen! It’s even easy enough that your kids can create their own headbands! Take a look below to see how you can craft your own with a special little lady in your life. Supplies needed:
Fabric wrapped headband
Silk flowers of your choice
Silk butterfly of your choice
Hot glue, glue gun
Scissors
You have so many options when it comes to making this headband. Your local dollar store or craft store has dozens of silk flower varieties to choose from or you can purchase them for under a dollar each online…….you will even see a variety of silk butterflies you can use too. Choose a color scheme that works for you or let the child pick out their own colors.
Directions:
1. Begin by snipping the head of your silk flowers off. You want to remove as much of the stem as possible so it lays flat on the headband. You will need either one large bloom, or several small blooms.
2. Apply some glue to the back of the flower and press it to the headband. You may need to add some glue to the actual petals and press them to the headband to secure them nicely.
3. You can now add the butterfly to the headband. Just remove any wiring, add some glue to the belly and press. Hold in place until secure.
Your beautiful spring headband is now ready to be enjoyed. Use it to dress up any spring outfit or just for daily use. Make a few extra for your local preschool’s dress up center! It is an accessory your little princess is sure to love.
