Saving Money – Car Care Kit or Cleaning Supplies Kit as a Gift

Need a gift idea for dad? How about a friend’s kid going off to college? This is a SUPER easy way to save a few bucks and give a homemade (and much needed!) gift! All you’ll need is a bucket, and a few supplies to fill in it! For a guy consider a car wash kit and fill a bucket with rags, a roll of paper towels, window cleaner, homemade car shampoo (see below), homemade car air freshener (see below).
What about someone who’s moving into a new house, or has gotten their first apartment? Take that bucket and fill it up with similar cleaning supplies! Tie a ribbon around the outside for a prettier effect! See below for some homemade cleaner recipes!
Homemade Car Shampoo Recipe
Mix 1/3 cup of dishwashing liquid plus 1/4 cup of powdered laundry detergent and 1 gallon of water.
Homemade Air Freshner
Trace the shape of a cookie cutter of your choice onto a piece of craft foam and then cut out the shape. Spray the foam several times with cologne or perfume, then let it dry. Punch a hole through the top and tie a string on it!
Homemade Glass Cleaner
Mix 1/2 cup of vinegar and 1/4 cup of baking soda (or 2 tsp. Borax) into 1/2 gallon of water. Pour carefully into a spray bottle and you’re ready to use!
