If you’re looking to decorate your house, but you don’t have the budget to do so, why not decorate your house with your own photography? It does a little longer to do, but it is so cost effective that it is worth the wait! Plus you’ll have the pride of showing off your photography! If you have a decent camera or can borrow one – you’re off to a good start!! Let’s grab your camera and go!
One of the biggest ways to save money on artwork for your house, other than yard sales, is to do it yourself. What I mean is take your own pictures, then wait for the sales or freebies to make your own enlargements, canvas, etc. See the picture above? It is simply a picture I took at our local park. Nothing fancy. Just a picture of some trees. BUT it would look beautiful blown up and framed or put on a canvas in the right house! Deals like the one Canvas People is currently running (FREE 8×10 Canvas + ship) is an awesome time to take advantage of something like this. A couple times a year Walgreens also offers free 8×10’s, and daily deal sites are always running deals on photo gifts.
Get creative! You can take pictures of trees, flowers, animals, old buildings, landscapes, skylines, a stairwell, even amusement parks! The possibilities are endless! Can’t seem to get a decent lighting? Use online photo editors like Photobucket or Flickr to make your picture black and white or sepia colored for a different effect.
