I love Tangrams for so many reasons! They help children to classify shapes, it helps them with their problem solving skills, and even introduces them into the world of geometry- without even knowing it! Tangrams come in many different shapes and sizes.
I found a fabulous Tangram game at a garage sale for only $2 – I couldn’t believe it! It was a Tangrams game where you had the card with an object on it like a person or cat, and you were to build it using the colored shapes and ‘nail’ it down onto the cork board with a small wooden hammer and push pins. Tangrams have greatly helped my son to think outside the box and also to learn how to copy objects from one page onto another.
