Stocking Stuffers the Healthy Way #HolidaySmiles

As you know last week we drove from Iowa to Colorado to visit my sister for the Thanksgiving holiday. I wanted to do something a little special for all of the cousins while we were there together and wanted to buy little mini stockings and fill them with gifts but I couldn’t find any. So instead I decided to be a good mommy and get the kids excited about something healthy….

….brushing their teeth!

When I was a kid I learned early on that I had to brush my teeth but I just don’t remember any “cool” oral care items like the Colgate Dora the Exporer toothpaste and toothbrush or the Colgate Spongebob toothbrush and toothpaste! Not to mention I loved that they came in value packs as I had 6 kids to buy for! I knew that there were supposed to be some Colgate Holiday packs out that sold a pre-packaged set with both toothpaste and a toothbrush but I went to 2 different stores looking for them and just settled for buying several value packs with large tubes of toothpaste.

I was shocked to see that there were almost no plain toothbrushes anymore! They were all filled with my kids’ favorite characters! I bought all of the kids their own toothbrush and toothpaste sets, some fun stuff for their bath, and a few other items that we had forgotten to pack on our road trip. When I got back to the house I surprised all of the kids with their very own sets to keep! I had to make sure that all of the designs were different so that the kids didn’t get them confused!!

The boys were the first to run into the bathroom and start brushing their teeth! In fact I didn’t even tell them to brush their teeth – I just handed them their new Colgate Dora & Spongebob sets and they ran directly into the bathroom all on their own. It was pretty awesome! It if only takes a buck or two to get my kids running to brush their teeth I have no problem with that!! All week long the kids would brush their teeth throughout the day and when one of the cousins saw another brushing they would run and grab their toothbrush! Some of the younger ones even used their toothbrush to brush their toys!

And the youngest cousin quickly got caught up in the excitement as the boys ran around showing off their new Colgate toothbrushes! I caught her in the kitchen doing a happy dance!! It was just too cute!! I would have never thought to build memories around something so simple like toothbrushes but our kids were immensely happy. So buy your kiddos a fun toothbrush for a buck or two, encourage them to take care of their teeth, and watch the smile on their face when they see their favorite characters in their stockings!
