Yes, you can make a ‘bowl’ out of old CD’s! This project needs adult supervision! Take some old CD’s that you don’t want anymore and preheat your oven to 325*. Wad up a ball of aluminum foil, and place it on a covered cookie sheet. Place your old CD on top of the ball of aluminum foil and place it in the oven to melt down. No- it will not catch on fire! It takes about 10 minutes to start drooping over the ball of aluminum foil so just keep checking it until the disc is where you want it to be. You can also take the cookie sheet out of the oven and use oven mitts to mold your CD bowl a little bit too. Be careful- it’s very hot!
Once it is cool you can paint it, glue rhinestones on, glue pom poms on, or anything else you would like to do to decorate your new bowl! I’ve even seen people melt CD’s together and make a large bowl out of them! Get creative- just be careful as these are very hot! If you make some of your own CD bowls take a picture and send them to me at [email protected] I would love to see them!
