Oh BOY am I excited to share with you about this new Hallmark Recordable Storybook AND the Disney on Ice “100 Years of Magic” event coming to Des Moines in the end of November! Since we just recently moved to Iowa from Florida our family has really been missing the Disney life!

Thanks to some wonderful friends of ours who work at Disney we used to visit Mickey & friends at Disney several times a year…..now he’s just not that close anymore! We are REALLY excited to have the opportunity to attend this event!

If you haven’t seen a Hallmark Recordable Storybook they are SO cool! My kids received one from their grandma last year since she doesn’t live us and my boys just LOVED hearing grandma read them a bedtime story every night. Now we have this awesome “You’re a Hero! All the Ways you Save the Day” recordable storybook – the characters are SO cute! My little guy especially REALLY likes this book!

Well, and maybe our puppy too! 🙂 These neat Hallmark books allow you to record your voice as you read the story. It’s a great idea for parents, grandparents, friends, etc. who don’t live close. And of course there’s a way that your kids can’t erase the message too. 🙂

Our cousins LOVE super heroes so we were thinking about having my son read the story and sending it to his cousins who live in another state. What a fun and audible way to bring family together!

To bring your favorite Disney characters to life we have the opportunity to go to Disney on Ice “100 Years of Magic” in Des Moines, Iowa on November 24 and thanks to Hallmark I want to send one of you too! In fact I am giving away a whole pack of FOUR tickets to see Disney on Ice at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on November 24 AND a special Hallmark Recordable Storybook too to bring the magic home!

At the event you’ll see all of your favorite Disney characters from the last 100 years – Mickey, Pinocchio, Donald Duck, the Incredibles, the Princesses, Jiminy Cricket, Mulan, Nemo, Lion King, Toy Story, and plenty more! It will be showing from Nov 21- Nov 25 – you can see all of the dates, times, and more information on purchasing tickets here.

  1. Only 1 favorite Disney character!!?? Wow – that’s tough. I’d probably have to go with Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Mostly because she ultimately gave the greatest sacrifice humanly possible – her life for that of her father’s. It’s a great example of living a John 15:13 life, “”Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”

My favorite hallmark memory would be when my grandmother would send me birthday or Christmas cards after moving away to college. She is now in the nursing home with Alzheimers but I know she would still send me a card if she could!

  3. Eeyore is my absolute favorite Disney character! I have never been to a Disney on Ice and would love the opportunity to share this with my family. Thanks for the chance- and the memory book to sweeten the memory.

  4. First of all, thanks for what you do. Your posts brighten my life as a teacher who wishes she could give the world to her students and sometimes struggles to get by on her own. My husband and I are both teachers, and we certainly don’t do it for the money.

When I was younger, I wanted to work for Hallmark because my uncle did. I love this recordable story book idea. It gives kids with grandparents far away the opportunity to connect. Growing up, my grandparents lived many hours away and we only got to see them a couple times a year. Something like this recording would’ve been comforting to me!

As for Disney, I have been collecting Mickey Mouse since I was a child. I am almost 30 today and have never been to a Disney on Ice event, sadly. There was always something so special and uplifting to me about Disney. If given the opportunity to attend this event, my husband and I would probably take my mom and dad (my mom has ALWAYS wanted to go as she’s a teacher too). She is battling melanoma and has been for the past two years and we just never know. I would be honored and blessed to give her this opportunity to smile, be uplifted, and enjoy a night away escaping the realities of cancer.

What an awesome giveaway! With three girls, Disney princesses are a huge hit at my house. But we also love Peter Pan for a little balance!! I’d take all of my kids and have to buy one more ticket but it would be so worth it!! Thanks for the opportunity. 🙂

  7. Oh the excitment you feel when you open your mailbox and there’s not a bill, not a political ad, but a card sent just to you. I still feel the same excitment getting a card as when I was a little girl receiving a card from my great aunt. In that one moment, I was someone special, someone loved, someone thought of.

Knowing the love I felt, it is great to provide this to others with the same out reach of giving a card. A simple card of kindness can live in one’s heart for a lifetime.

  14. My favorite hallmark memory is my fiance at the time deciding we needed to start exchanging ornaments every year for Christmas. 13 years later we have a beautiful tree filled with memories.

My daughter is really getting into Mickey Mouse so I would love to take her to a live show. We always have to look to see if Mickey is on and when it is not she gets upset. One day we were in the middle of Mickey Mouse and it was time to take the boys to school. She cried all the way there because she couldn’t see the end of the show. She just loves Mickey and I’m beginning to like too. When I was little our TV only got three stations so I didn’t get to see much Disney but my children love Disney!

I grew up loving Disney movies and my daughter is the same way. She’s 2.5 now and just starting to be interested in full length movies. She adores Toy Story and Aladdin, especially, but she hasn’t yet seen any “princess movies.” I love showing her each one, and watching her experience the wonder and I joy I felt when I first saw them myself. I can’t even imagine how her face would light up seeing some of these characters in person.

  18. My favorite is Cinderella
