I am just SO excited about this year! In the end of 2012 I promised myself that this was going to be my best year yet blogging for you guys and things just started falling in my lap – I’m still a little overwhelmed by all of the excitement going on here and I want you to get involved! I have really appreciated the support you guys have shown me over the past 2 and a half years I’ve been blogging and I’m always trying to learn new things and make this site even better!  There are a few things you already know about, and a few things you don’t know about. I’m going to try something new this year – I want YOU involved! If you have a craft, activity, free printable worksheet set, etc. that would fit in with one of my events please e-mail me (survivingateacherssalary@gmail.com) with the header title “SATS EVENTS”. Additionally if you are a brand and would like your product(s) featured via review and giveaway please e-mail me with your pitch. We already have some great companies signed up to work with us and I can hardly wait till these events come!

In February I went to Cancun, Mexico with Xlear to attend their Xylitol Convention! I agreed to be an ambassador for them as our family has been using several of their products for years. I am excited to learn more about their company and of course soak up some much needed warmth in Mexico!

In March I joined Best Buy at the Get Radical Women’s Conference in Washington DC. It was a time of inspiration, of learning, of passion, and of growing.

AND for April I am SOOOO super excited! My oldest son will be turning 6 years old in April and we will be hosting a Fossils & Dinosaur event here on Surviving a Teacher’s Salary at the end of that month. I realized that there are not a ton of kid-friendly paleontology activities out there so this event is perfect for your dinosaur & fossil loving kiddos! I am looking for my readers to get involved in this one!! This special week we will be showcasing recipes, activities, crafts, toys, products, and anything else related to fossils & dinosaurs!! I need YOU to send me your ideas! I haven’t quite gotten all of my details together yet but I will be compensating any posts I use from you! They must have clear photos and a well written (grammatically correct) post with detailed instructions. Your post can be free printables you’ve created for our event, it can be a cake you’ve made, or game idea you’ve created. Compensation will either be Paypal cash or an Amazon gift card. Although it won’t be much (probably $5-$10) I want you to know I appreciate your work and somehow compensate you for your time. Please make sure it’s original.

In JUNE my youngest son will be turning 4 years old and we will be celebrating his birthday with an arts & colors party! I am still working on putting this event together but we will be featuring anything colorful and artistic during this week! Rainbows, art crafts, recipes, product kits, there is a lot that can go into this event and again – if you have any great colorful artistic ideas or recipes please e-mail them to me with clear photos. If I use your work in a post you will be compensated and I will let you know ahead of time if I am posting it or not. Again please make sure it’s original.

In JULY once again I will be headed to BlogHer - this time in Chicago! I am accepting sponsors for this trip so please contact me via e-mail (survivingateacherssalary@gmail.com) if you are interested in partnering with Surviving a Teacher’s Salary for this event.

AND last but DEFINITELY not least is our exciting ANNUAL Back to School Bash! Promised to be bigger and better than ever!! For this event I am looking for simple creative teacher gift ideas! Original ideas, with photos that are used during this event – I will send out $5 Amazon gift cards or Paypal cash for you!  So get your creative juices flowing and let’s see what you can come up with!! I am also looking to partner with companies to showcase any back to school products and office supply products.  Companies wishing to have their product(s) featured must also provide a giveaway product for my readers – please email me (survivingateacherssalary@gmail.com) for further discussion. I look forward to your e-mails!
