So our Thrift Store Thursday is actually on Friday today! :/ Sorry it’s a day late!! Yesterday the Geek Squad had control of my computer for almost 4 hours and my poor little guy was sick AND we had a basketball game at my husband’s school to attend so there was pretty much no hope for getting much done!
BUT here we are in 2013 and we’re kicking off celebrating saving money by shopping secondhand at your local thrift store!
Over the holidays and the past few months we had a lot of company in town and we realized that we had no bedding for company since we had just moved. I couldn’t afford to purchase brand new bedding for 8+ people with blankets and everything so where do you think I turned to? My local thrift store!
Although I was shopping for bedding for our company I actually ended up also buying a comforter and sheet set for our bed!! Our poor comforter is older than my kids and needed to be recycled for our pets but we didn’t have $80 for a new set!! I purchased the beautiful comforter you see above along with a full set of sheets and pillowcases for just $4!!!
For the other twin and full sheets that I bought for our company I paid about $1 each! It was great!! For about $20 I was able to buy us a brand new bed set, and enough sheets and blankets for a family of 8! Remember to check your bedding carefully and I suggest washing it several times in the hottest setting you can use on your washing machine!
So what did you find at your local thrift store over the holidays? Check out the beautiful find that Alissa from Fun Finds for Families snagged over the holidays – brand new! Make sure you link up what thrifty deal you found this week – I can’t wait to check it out!!
