The Classroom Friendly Pencil Sharpener
I had a teacher contact me who also sells these Classroom Friendly Pencil Sharpeners. He offered to send me one to review. Seeing as my husband is always in the market for a good pencil sharpener (as is every teacher!) I agreed. When I checked out the website to learn more about the sharpener- my interest was definitely peaked.
This handy little pencil sharpener is a MANUAL pencil sharpener WITH an AUTOMATIC “stop sharpnening” feature! That’s what really got my interest. I’ve never seen a manual pencil sharpener with a feature where it will automatically stop sharpening your pencils when they are sharp enough. I knew my husband would really like that one.
As you see above the front metal plate pulls out away from the sharpener.
What got my husband’s interest about this sharpener? It’s the QUIETEST manual sharpener ever. Seriously- there’s no loud annoying grinding sound through his classroom anymore. He was able to sharpen his pencils while his kids were taking a test- and they didn’t even know he was sharpening them! This is a huge plus for teachers!
The shavings tray can easily be removed. It’s a pretty good size and holds enough shavings. As you can see below once you’ve pulled the metal faceplate out, you squeeze the two black prongs on top, and insert your pencil. It will automatically hold your pencil now.
You’ll have one hand free to hold the sharpener, and one hand free to sharpen. If you look at the picture below you can see how sharp the pencil is. Again, once it got that sharp you cannot sharpen it anymore. It is a great pencil saver! One thing that my husband really liked was that you can even sharpen the small nubby pencils. Since you are putting the pencil into the metal faceplate, it will bring it close enough to get it a good sharpening!

What do you think?? Ok- I know this is a big review for a manual pencil sharpener but we were thoroughly impressed. We both definitely recommend this pencil sharpener for teachers. (or anyone!) We were very impressed by it- it’s definitely quiet, a very reasonable price, saves your pencils, and simple to use.

I totally agree with you about the pencil sharpener- I found out about it through some other teacher group, and I got my own- I bought more than 1 and am very happy with my purchases! My students love it too- they don't mind using the green one instead of the one on the wall…
I have 3 of these sharpeners in my classroom and LOVE them too. I will never go back to electric again. I wish I found them years ago. Oh well, I have them now. My students love them too!
I help out at a school and donated two of them and now everyone wants one.. I would have to say give this as a gift to a teacher and your grade will go up LOL
but seriously the teachers love them……
